I want to use the new wireless MCU SAMR21 to a new project. The project is going to be a wireless sensor node board. The main concerns is low power and low cost. I am thinking of using a 3.6V recharged battery with a solar cell. There is going to be only a 16Mhz crystal on the board which is going to drive both the transceiver and the mcu. My first question is whether or not I can use only one oscillator for both modules (mcu and transceiver). The second question is whether or not I can use internal LDOs to reduce the operating voltage to 1.8V for the mcu cause I want to keep the price of the bard low without using an external regulator. The board will have a sensor, samr21, battery with booster charger and a solar panel and two chip antennas. If you have any other suggestions on how to achieve this 2 goals they are welcome. Thanks.
